Family friendly streets from around the country

In a digital age, raising a family has become largely reliable on technology and keeping children entertained with toys. But for those traditional parents with active kids who want to get out and graze the occasion knee, closed off streets make for great family homes.

Generally speaking, courts and other closed off streets have less traffic and disruption for the little tackers, roaming the end of the street. So we’ve taken a look around the country and found the top 5 suburbs with the highest volume of cul-de-sac’s in each state.

VIC

  1. Berwick

  3. Werribee
  4. Sunbury
  5. Rowville

Taking the number 1 spot in Victoria, is Berwick! In Melbourne’s South East, Berwick has a whopping 469 cul-de-sacs to choose from.

NSW

  1. Castle Hill
  2. Orange
  3. Port Macquarie
  4. Dubbo
  5. Cherrybrook

In NSW, Castle Hill has the highest number of closed streets with a total of 229. Castle Hill is around 30km north-west of Sydney.

ACT

  1. Kambah
  2. Wanniassa
  3. Gordon
  4. Charnwood
  5. Nicholls

In Australia’s Capital City, Kambah took the title with 190 cul-de-sacs.

NT

  1. Jabiru
  2. Malak
  3. Durack
  4. Gunn
  5. Nhulunbuy

Way up north, Jabiru has 41 cul-de-sacs. Jabiru is inside the Kakadu National Park.

QLD

  1. Buderim
  2. Forest Lake
  3. Narangba
  4. Morayfield
  5. Caboolture

On the Sunshine Coast, Buderim has the most closed off streets with a massive 265. Family friendly and close to the beach…. seems too good to be true.

SA

  1. Mount Gambier

  3. Wynn Vale

  5. Morphett Vale

Back down south, a common holiday spot for many Australian’s, Mount Gambier has 164 family friendly streets.

TAS

  5. Howrah

In the mouth of Mersey River, Devonport has a total 96 cul-de-sacs.

WA

  1. Thornlie
  2. Willetton
  3. Duncraig
  4. Canning Vale
  5. Kingsley

And last but not least, over the Nullarbor, Thornlie has a sum of 203 closed streets. In the outer suburbs of Perth, with close proximity to the business district, this seems like a good spot to call home.
